The fantastical art scene has hit Kansas City in a big way with the revitalization of downtown and the growth of this wonderfully fundamental community. Its reach is beyond borders on 4th Fridays in Downtown Lees Summit. Combining food, fun and festivities, 4th Fridays is sure to be an asset in this thriving community, especially to local artisans and small business owners that grace these streets.
Freeland Photography is one such asset in a multitude of facets. One step inside this rebuilt structure and you are immersed in the creative. Mike Freeland himself started his famous career as a musician, playing piano and guitar, ultimately landing in the world of photography capturing images that truly tell stories of people’s lives.
Mike’s ‘Freeland Crew’ is one of detailed customer service and great reputation. This particular 4th Friday in April boasted two of his well-known talents, Tiffany Marie Buckley and Traci Bartshe. Both displayed artworks created from imaginations untouched.
Traci Bartshe, creative genius & lead study of Freeland Photography’s Photoshop classes, displayed works such as the Beatles portraits derived simply of small pieces of various torn paper placed so delicately as to bring life to the piece that it may just become a mainstay in the studio. Other works in the conference area showcased printed manipulations of retro study. They are simply put, works of a beautiful mind.
Be sure to visit the next 4th Friday on May 24th from 5:30-8:30pm at Freeland Photography and to support your local downtown talent. Step inside Freeland Photography, sip a sweet drink, meet the extreme talent that resides in this building and soak in the sounds of Mike Freeland himself as he plays the music he’s written and composed over the speakers that engulf you. You’ll be amazed in more ways than one.
