Sarah, Alisa & Ryan’s wedding coordinator with Quintessential Event Planning wrote the following about their big day. ” When I first started talking with Alisa and Ryan about their wedding, I knew it was going to be unique. Both of them are huge travelers who have been all over the world. Paris, Thailand, Cambodia, you name it! They wanted to combine their love of travel with their love of wine. Therefore, it only made sense to have a travel themed wedding at a vineyard.
The couple selected the newly renovated Belvoir Winery as their venue. The outdoor grounds of this venue are stunning, and when combined this with its new ballroom, it was the perfect place. To bring the travel theme to life we incorporated large and small elements such as suitcases and cities that Alisa and Ryan had traveled to for table numbers, just to name a few. Perhaps, my favorite travel element was the seating chart that KP Floral and Event Design created. It had the title “Where in the World is My Seat?” and then highlighted all the cities or table numbers on a big map.
Alisa and Ryan brought this travel theme to life in an even more real and meaningful way. Nearly every person who attended their wedding traveled to Kansas City from outside of the state. They had guests from Thailand, Seattle, California, and so many more places. Due to Alisa and Ryan’s non-stop work schedule, they rarely get to spend time with many of these family members and friends. It was very important that very element of their wedding allowed for maximum time with the people who are nearest and dearest to them. From a laid back rehearsal dinner at Boulevard Brewery to having a big enough bus (Overland Park Limo) so that everyone could ride to the wedding together, not a single detail was overlooked when it came to their guests.
Two things that the guests enjoyed most had to be the Polaroid station and late night surprise treat of Andy’s Frozen Custard. The custom made guest/photo book was completely full by the end of the night and no custard was left uneaten. And neither of these stopped the guests from partying the night away. DJ Andrew Northern had the dance floor packed, with many of the guests not wanting to leave at the end of the night. What stands out the most to me from helping plan this wedding is people. Alisa and Ryan are surrounded by amazing people. And their greatest wish for their wedding was to show these people just how much they love each and every one of them.
