Upcoming Photo 101 Classes (group classes no longer offered)
Mike Freeland is still offering 1 on 1 training for $100 per hour Monday-Thursday. To inquire about 1 on 1 training email Mike Freeland. Make sure to include your experience, camera gear, and what you are looking to train/improve.
After 8 years of teaching group photo classes on weekends we have decided to put these on hiatus for at least the remainder of the 2019 calendar year.
Thank you to all our wonderful students and clients that continue to refer us!
Photo 101 Group Class (on hiatus for 2019)
This group class is a complete camera operation class teaching you the functions of your DSLR camera with the Program Settings (program, shutter priority, aperture priority, and full manual mode). Our goal is for everyone to leave this class with the knowledge of how to shoot manually on all program dials (dialing in all the settings and balancing exposure to achieve the perfect result).
- Speed up/slow down time. Change to a deep and shallow depth of field (a faster lens is recommended but not required for the class. 1.8 is an example of a faster lens able to shoot in low light/shallow depth of field).
Here is a link to Canon’s 50mm 1.8 to Nikon’s 50mm 1.8 - Learn why and how to perfect exposure compensation.
- You will also receive our camera handout to use for future quick reference!
- We do have a couple of cameras available to borrow during the class (rent on a first come/first serve basis).
- New classes are limited and fill in fast.
Please register for this class by completing the form to the right. We ask that you arrive 20 minutes prior so we may get everyone checked in and start on time. If you have a Groupon/Living Social please bring it with your, either paper copy or digital copy. If you purchased a Groupon/Living Social and it is expired, you are required to pay $40 additional. You may also purchase this class directly through the studio emailing jill@freelandphotography.com. You must bring the receipt with you to class.
If you need to reschedule, please do so via our website and put in the notes section that you are rescheduling.
If you have any questions regarding the class, you may reach Jill at: jill@freelandphotography.com
Please note: This class is better suited for owners of DSLR or MILC (mirrorless) cameras. However if the main dial on your camera has these modes (M=Manual, TV or S=Shutter Priority, A or AV=Aperture Priority, P=Program) your camera will work for the class. Point and shoot camera’s (Canon Power Shot & Nikon Cool Pix) are not recommended for this class.
